About the Book
God Was Always Speaking, I Just Wasn’t Listening is a journey of faith, healing, and transformation. It weaves together military experiences, personal struggles with mental health, and miraculous encounters that led me to discover God's purpose in my life. Through my story, I hope to inspire others to find hope and meaning in their own challenges, begin to hear God speak to them, all while allowing God to help them write their story too.
About the Author
Ben Duelley is a retired Navy Captain and decorated combat veteran with over two decades of military service, where he commanded with both strength and humility. With over 2,500 hours of flight time and more than 600 arrested landings across five aircraft carriers, Ben has led in some of the most high-stakes environments imaginable.
Throughout his career, Ben navigated life’s toughest challenges both in the air and on the ground. His journey from combat zones to an inner battle with depression and faith forms the foundation of his powerful story of resilience, redemption, and finding purpose.
Now living in Texas with his family, Ben continues to serve as the Point Team Coach at City Point Church, overseeing volunteer teams to create a welcoming environment for the church community.
He is also active in the local community, in youth sports where he mentors young athletes, and by giving back wherever he can.
In his debut book, God Was Always Speaking, I Just Wasn't Listening, Ben shares his testimony of breakdowns, spiritual battles, and ultimately discovering God’s voice guiding him through it all.
Ben and his wife, Eleanor, reside in Allen, TX, with their three children.
